BRIGHTON, ENGLAND (WSAZ) -- Across the pond, a local author is making headlines.

Michael Knost is an author from Chapmanville, who wrote a book about the art of telling horror stories.

The book called "Writers Workshop of Horror" took home the Bram Stoker Award for non-fiction.

Bram Stoker wrote the famous book Dracula.

Knost says the award is the highest an author can receive in this type of writing.

He was given the honor Saturday night at a ceremony in England.
