CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Mayors of the towns that WVU and Duke call home are getting in on the NCAA action with a little friendly wager.

Morgantown Mayor Bill Byrne has challenges Durham Mayor Bill Bell to a google bet.

If WVU beats Duke Saturday, Durham's Mayor will write a letter endorsing Morgantown's application for super-high speed internet connections from Google. Mayor Byrne says he'll do the same if Duke wins.

The ultra-high speed internet connection is still in the trial stage, but whatever town gets picked to be used as the guinea pig locations will have access to internet that's 100 times faster than most Americans have right now.

Several other cities have applied for the program.

Don't you think the wager of this bet is a little much. I mean what if the decision by Google comes down to these two cities, and the loser of the ball game has endorsed the other city this could be a big economic loss to that city. Maybe they should have bet a week wearing the others merchandise or something but this could end one of their political careers.
