ONA, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two women have been released from the hospital after being reportedly shot in a car late Sunday night.
The Cabell County Sheriff's Office tells WSAZ.com that the shooting happened in the 4100 block of Lycans Branch Road shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday.
Deputy Larry Gay says the driver of the car told investigators he and the 2 women had gone to a house in the area to see the ex-boyfriend of one of the women.
He says they left after finding no one at the home.
The driver told investigators that near the end of road he stopped, then heard a loud noise. At that point, the 2 women said they had been wounded by what is now believed to be a blast from a shot gun that entered the car through the rear passenger window on the driver's side of the car.
The deputy says the 2 women, ages 25 and 21, suffered minor injuries to the neck and back.
The driver took the 2 women to a convenience store near the intersection of Mall Road and Route 60 where they called for help.
At this time, detectives have interviewed a number of people, but no arrests have been made.

Well wonderin....I personally know one of the victims and she hasnt realized she is going down the wrong path. she is still out dealing and using and causing trouble. she has always been like this and wont ever change. She still dont have her child and probably wont for a long while. Like they say "you cant keep poking an old dog and not expect it to eventually bite ya"
I dont understand why their "criminal past" has anything to do with them getting shot at?! This is stupid and the morons who are arguing back and forth this had nothing to do with obama or mentioning the fact that they are druggies and that they are deadbeat parents. all that matters is that these people are safe and if they are "druggies" then maybe this was their "SIGN" and they wake up and realize that their life is heading down the wrong path.
I see people getting mad over the comments here. Its hard for these people to here the truth about themselves. Dopeheads, don't take of there kids just plan old trash at its best. Sorry if the truth hurts but if you don't like it change your life style don't blame people that are living the right way.
