KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Many people have a tough time figuring out the right path to take when they're trying to get better health coverage for their children.
In Kanawha County, federal grant money is being used to try and make that process a little easier for parents, and get more kids insured in the process.
There are several locations that will be set up to provide information and support.
Monday through Friday, you can get more information on Medicaid or CHIP (Children's Health Insurance Program) at the offices of the Partnership of African American Churches. That's located at 106 Lincoln Avenue in Institute. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Help is also available Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at these locations:
Institute Church of the Nazarene's Worship Learning Activity Center, 208 Washington Avenue, Institute
Washington Manor, 216 Daniel Boone Drive, Charleston
Levi First Missionary Baptist Church Annex, 5121 Church Drive, Rand
The project is funded by a $330,000 grant that comes from the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (CHIRPA).

I THINK YOU SHOULD USE THE SEIZED DRUG MONEY FOR THE HELP WITH CHILDRENS HEALTH BECAUSE THEIR MORE IMPORTANT THAN GIVING HELP TO POLICE CRUISERS THEY TEAR UP! AND WASTE IT ON PEOPLE RUNNING YELLOW LIGHTS CALLING IT TARGET RED!
There is a way everyone can have healthcare. It is called planning, hardwork, education, and getting a good job with benefits. This plan does not require the taxpayers to support any children, but their own. This plan does not require a person to mooch off of the work of others. Can't find a job here? Move. I am sick of supporting so many people who are just too lazy to work. You cannot tell me that there are this many people who are truly disabled and cannot work. I find it interesting that they cannot work, yet they procreate.
If he is in foster care he should qualify for WV Medicaid which will cover dental cleaning and medical care for a lazy eye. The biggest uninsured right now are the working poor...too much money for medicaid/CHIPS and too little to buy a family plan. I wish the grant money would be used to help them research plans until they find a good fit.
