I was at Courtside that night and talked to the people that were working. Bassett tried to avoid the line on moms weekend and when he was told he needed to get in line he said; "You don't know who I am?". To which the doorman told him he didn't care who he was and that he needed to get in line. Bassett then punched him in the nose and ran up Court Street. Two bouncers chased him up the street and he was arrested. Good luck in the NBA Bassett. Nobody will know who you are there......

Apparently the OU athletic dept thinks they have enough facts. Yes, innocent until proven guilty, BUT if they are guilty, these young athletes should learn early to play by the rules e.g. laws. it will help them to mature and maybe learn from their mistakes. Too many talented young people wasting talent by time and time again being slapped on the wrist (big fish, small pond syndrome)

Innocent until proven guilty must have been eliminated and I missed it. If all the assault charges that occur were filed in Athens, along with the drunk/disorderly charges and students were kicked out of school for their irresponsible behaviors OU would cease to exist and then Athens would be a dried up town that would cease to exist as well. This man's name just happened to be in main-stream media because he was an athlete, why doesn' t MSM check out the regional jail site to see how many students get booked in routinely on a given weekend. Be careful what you wish. Truthfully, I would like to see all the up-town bars close and students actually come to Athens to get a decent education. Well I must come back to reality.
