CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Primary Election in West Virginia is a week away.

The voting machines in Kanawha County were put to the test Tuesday to make sure everything is ready for next week's election.

County leaders conducted the public inspection of the vote recording devices at the Voter Registration Warehouse along Christopher Street. After the inspection, a test was conducted to determine the accuracy of the ballot scanning.

Election officials used sample ballots to make sure all the votes would add up correctly. A county spokesperson tells WSAZ.com the machines worked perfectly and they didn't find any problems.

Voters will notice something a little different this year when they vote because Kanawha County's ballot is two-sided.

Early voting is still underway in West Virginia until May 8.

In Kanawha County, voters can vote during the week and on Saturday, May 8 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Voter Registration Office.

They should do what Cabell County does. Just go ahead and count the votes before the election. No need for a machine, or even voters that are still living. Just count the cemetary markers. It works every time !
