Building Inspected After Partial Collapse
Engineers are trying to determine if a building in Ashland can be saved, The right rear corner of the building at 1313 Winchester Avenue came down unexpectedly Thursday sometime between 2 and 4 p.m.

ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Engineers are trying to determine if a building in Ashland can be saved, The right rear corner of the building at 1313 Winchester Avenue came down unexpectedly Thursday sometime between 2 and 4 p.m. That half of the building in unoccupied but the other half of the building houses Tri-State Travel. Right now engineers are trying to determine if half of the building can be saved or if the structural integrity of the entire building has been compromised.

We have a crew on the scene and will update the story as new information becomes available.

historical landmark they dont care! cuz they didnt care when they tore down the old boys home! an there wsnt nothin wrong wit wit! now that was historical landmark! this builing is junk!

if they try to fix this building it will be with taxpayers money because of it being a historical landmark. to me its just an eyesore and a waste of space that could be used for something useful and provide jobs for the community thats allready at its highest unemployment rate. if you ask me i say tear this safety hazard down. that building houses nothing and never will even if they fix it.

How is it safe for anyone to be able to continue to work in that building when part of it is wide open and falling apart? Where are the building inspectors? Surely this is against some of the safety regulations and building codes.
