HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A homeowner in Huntington shot a man breaking into his home. Sgt. Williams with the Huntington Police Department says the incident happened just after midnight Friday on the west end of Huntington. The house is on Gill Street.

Michael Legg told police that the suspect broke through a a section of glass on his front door and was attempting to kick the door in when he shot him. The bullet grazed the side of the suspect.

Sgt. Williams says the suspect is Houston McClung. He had a minor gun shot wound and was treated and released from St. Mary's Medical Center.

Investigators say the two men had been involved in an altercation earlier in the evening.

Police charged McClung with burglary, assault, and destruction of property. He is in the Western Regional Jail.

Hi Bill, and thanks for the response. I completely understand that, which is why I wanted to throw my own two cents in there so that maybe some of the readers won't be so quick to judge. I'd comment further on your second sentence, but like I said I can't throw too much of my case out there right now. Ciao.

"Houston, you have a problem..." Don't go seeking it out, let trouble find you. You gotta realize pal, we are reading what's been reported. That's all we've got. So yes, you can expect to catch all the grief. Sorry. That's the way it goes... We're not a jury, we're the public who sees daily, the kind of crime that we ALL hate. Look at it subjectively, read the story. You'll have your day. Until then, read the article. Put yourself in the readers shoes.

Thanks for the narrow minded opinions of the uninformed. There _IS_ more to the story, I was in no way trying to break into his house, nor am I a thief! I felt/feel he was/is a threat to my children. Hence the altercation earlier that day. Can't dump anymore than that about my case but be sure that it had nothing to do with pills/meth...where do you people get this garbage? Two sides to every story folks!
