Kanawha County Wraps Up Election Canvass Without Much Change
The primary election results in Kanawha County will be certified later this week.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The primary election results in Kanawha County will be certified later this week.
The election board wrapped up the election canvass around 2:00 p.m. Monday. That's where they carefully go over each provisional ballot and any absentee and early voting ballots.
County Clerk Vera McCormick tells WSAZ.com 25,470 ballots were cast during Kanawha County's Primary Election.
During the canvass, the election board hand counted eight precincts, but none of the results changed much.
For example, after the canvass Incumbent Dave Hardy received 7,855 votes while Andy Richardson got 7,432 votes in the race for county commissioner.
The Kanawha County Commission will certify the election on Thursday.
