SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Kanawha Valley's Ribfest will have a new location this year.
WSAZ.com first reported Ribfest was moving to South Charleston earlier this week. Organizers held a news conference Wednesday to announce all the details.
Ribfest is set for July 29-August 1 at the University of Charleston property, where the old Dow Building 82 was located along MacCorkle Avenue.
This year's festivities will not only include plenty of ribs, but a petting zoo with nearly 150 animals, a concert and car show. Gary Lewis and the Playboys will perform.
According to a news release, a news conference will be held Wednesday to make the announcement.
Mayor Frank Mullens and Bill Picozzi, head of the Rib Festival, will announce the date of the event along with details about a carnival and car show that will be held in downtown South Charleston, according to the release.
The news conference is set for Wednesday, May 26 at 1:00 p.m. at the University of Charleston property, where the old Dow Building 82 was located along MacCorkle Avenue.
