ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A Kentucky State Police Trooper was forced to taser a Boyd County man during a traffic stop Monday night.
The incident happened during a traffic stop at the Super Quick in Cannonsburg about 6:15 p.m.
KSP says the trooper was writing a citation for a seat belt violation when a passenger in the car, Oscar Leach, 24 of Rush, took off running into a field.
The trooper ordered Leach to stop, but he refused so the trooper deployed his Taser. Leach was immediately arrested.
KSP says Leach had two outstanding warrants against him for drug trafficking and failure to appear on a flagrant non-support charge.
Leach was charged for these warrants and one count of fleeing and evading second offense. He was taken to the Boyd County Detention Center.
