Woman From Detroit Pleads Guilty to Drug Charge

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman from Detroit has pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
Ashley May, 26, entered the plea Monday in U.S. District Court in Huntington.
In her plea, May admitted she and others conspired to distribute crack cocaine in Huntington between June and July 2009.
According to court documents, May transported and distributed at least 50 grams of crack cocaine at the Huntington Inn Hotel and at a Huntington residence.
During a search of that residence, officers seized crack cocaine, heroin and a .40 caliber handgun.
May faces up to life in prison when she is sentenced in August.
The conviction stems from an investigation conducted by the Cabell County Sheriff’s Department, the Barboursville Police Department and the Milton Police Department.

The court system can make or break situations such as this. Stiff penalties would sent a message to Detroit, STAY AWAY FROM WVA.
