Unemployment Rate Falls in Most W.Va. Counties
The unemployment rate fell in 41 of West Virginia's 55 counties in May.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- The unemployment rate fell in 41 of West Virginia's 55 counties in May.
Workforce West Virginia reported Friday that 10 counties recorded increases in unemployment last month, while the rate remained steady in four others.
Statewide, unemployment fell from 8.8 percent in April to 8.6 percent in May.
Pocahontas County continued to have the highest unemployment rate at 16.1 percent. Monongalia County still boasts the state's lowest unemployment rate at 5.3 percent.

Now all we have to do to get a truly accurate figure of this percentage is add in all of the unemployed people whoes benefits expired along with those who have just plain gave up and we would most certainly realize that the actual "Unemployment Rate" most certainly exceeds 35% percent in this great state........ and yes that is a conservative estimate.
