UPDATE 6/25/10 @ 12 p.m.
MASON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Mason County Sheriff's Department has released the name of the person who died in a single vehicle accident on Hannan Trace Road Thursday.
Deputies say a 1996 Jeep driven by 66-year-old Shirley Jenkins ran off the side of the road, over an embankment and rolled over onto the passenger side in a shallow creek bed.
The Sheriff's Department tells WSAZ.com that Mrs. Jenkins was pronounced dead at the scene, however she was wearing her seat belt and in a preliminary examination by the Mason County Medical Examiner, it does not appear that she received injuries significant enough to cause death in the accident.
Mrs. Jenkins' body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The Valley Fire Department and Mason County EMS assisted the Sheriff's Department on the accident.
