NEW INFO: Car Hits Utility Pole, Reported Stolen From Riverfest Hours Later
Police in St. Albans say the driver of a car that hit a utility pole Saturday night ran away from the scene, and several hours later the car was reported stolen.

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Police in St. Albans say the driver of a car that hit a utility pole Saturday night ran away from the scene, and several hours later the car was reported stolen.
Police say the crash happened about 10 p.m. Saturday night on Kanawha Terrace near Weimer Elementary School.
After hitting the pole, the car went over a small embankment.
Police say several hours after the crash, the owner of the car called to report it had been stolen while he was at Riverfest.
St. Albans Police say the impact of the crash caused residents from the 2800 block of Kanawha Terrace to about a mile east into Jefferson to be without power.
AEP was called in to restore power, but the repairs are expected to take quite some time.

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The power is out for some folks in St. Albans after a car hit a utility pole.
Dispatchers in Kanawha County say the accident happened on Kanawha Terrace just after 10 p.m. Saturday, close to the Maranatha Fellowship Church.
The people in the car that hit the pole just had minor injuries.
American Electric Power has been called to fix the downed lines.

It wouldn't surprise me that someone got their car stolen over there. There is also a man in a wheelchair that is bumming money from these people at Riverfest. He has a lookout and then comes right up to your car and begs.
I was one of the Firefighters along with my father who is a 27 year veteran of the fire service that rolled up on this car wreck last night. After the guy hit the pole he went over a small embankment and then got out of the car and ran.
That's karma for ya.. Someone steals somebody elses car and then crashes it.. The worlds crazy these days.. PTL
