ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A juvenile in St. Albans was found by police with a gun in his backpack Sunday.
Police in St. Albans received a call that a male was rummaging through cars in the 2400 block of Adams Avenue about 6:45 Sunday morning. A witness description helped police find him an hour later.
The 17-year-old boy allowed police to search the backpack he was carrying. Inside the bag, police say, was clothing and a hand gun.
The boy said he got the gun from another juvenile, but wouldn't say who.
The teen was taken into custody. Police said he told them other juveniles were tampering with cars with him, but he declined to name them as well.
The 17-year-old was released to his mother. He will be charged through juvenile court with carrying a concealed weapon.

Been reading your comments. I also live in your area. I also agree that the neighborhood is going down quickly. I hate to see our property value go down, and I hate not feeling safe in my home. Let's unite and take back our neighborhood. The next Council Meeting will be Monday, July 12 at 7:30 PM. How bout it?
The parents of this child were busted making Meth about 4 years ago. CPS failed to take him from them. He stayed with family for a few months and then given back to them. They were given probation for endangering the lives of all their children and family. The system is the problem. He is a victim of his environment and it upsets me to the core.
