HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The River Cities Community Church is proving you don't need a passport to go on a mission trip. Members are fixing houses in Huntington and say their mission is to change lives.
Last winter, Nola Lusher met Michelle Protzman. Lusher says that was the beginning to her answered prayers.
"She was walking, and I asked her if she needed a ride," Protzman said. "She said she was just waiting on someone to ask."
When Protzman took Lusher home, the house she lived in was nearly condemnable. Much of the wood was rotting, and sheets covered the doors to keep the heat in.
"It was at the kitchen table, the Lord said 'Nola, I can move mountains'," Nola said. "I said, 'Lord, I know you can'. That day, Bobby Hall knocked on the door with Michelle. They wanted to fix up the house."
Nola knows the Book of James says, "By works, faith is perfected." She took care of the faith -- Hall and his crew did the work, and they're not stopping.
With the help of Sunset Avenue Church of God from Asheville, N.C., River Cities church members are fixing more houses. Now, they're working on another in Lusher's neighborhood.
"The sealing has gone to dust," Hall said. "We're helping this gentleman fix his home when he has no other way to get it done."
Nola Lusher isn't the youngest member of the River Cities Youth Group, but she's certainly one of the most important -- as youth have been meeting at her house for their meetings.
"I'm so happy they can enjoy this with me," Lusher said. "You can't enjoy things with no one with you."
Protzman and Lusher say they believe their mission to be one of divine proportions -- they say they haven't asked anyone for money to help rebuild, that it has all come from God in the form of discounts and donations from local businesses and individuals.
Lusher hopes to turn part of her new home into a soup kitchen, to continue serving others.

More local churches need to be doing doing instead of sending thousands of dollars over seas. Charity starts at home.
