COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSAZ) -- The Division of State Fire Marshal in Ohio has announced that a dozen investigations were conducted throughout Ohio near the Independence Day weekend.

July 4, 2010
Wheelersburg (Scioto County)

The Porter Township Fire Department responded to a call that a man had been injured when bottle rockets ignited in his back pocket. The man was carrying more than a dozen bottle rockets in his pocket. One of them lit in his pocket, igniting the others as well. He received 2nd and 3rd degree burns to the backside of his body, legs, hands and fingers and was transported to a Huntington hospital.

McArthur (Vinton County)
A Vinton County man was injured after he modified a 1.4g fireworks device by removing the time delay fuse and manually lighting a faster burning fuse. This caused pieces of the device to ignite, burning his face and shoulders. He was transferred to a Columbus hospital for treatment.

All of these incidents are under investigation by the Division of State Fire Marshall and charges could be filed.

What a waste of resources and tax dollars. I have a college education but am considered too stupid to set off a fire cracker, I have medical training and can save your life, but cant set off a firecracker. I have military training but, well you know I am too stupid to set off a firecracker. I could have fired any number of high powered weapons legally, but cant set off a firecracker. Big Brother is here wake up people well I guess that wont be necessary they know whats best for you even if you don't.. The fun lost for kids in these cases is often caused by one jerk who narcs out his neighbors. I guess maybe he considers that a good use of his taxe dollars..

Never trust a Buckeye with matches or fireworks. Never trust a Buckeye to be able to drive or know how to make a right turn on red. Never trust a Buckeye not to be a Homewrecker. Just to be on the safe side NEVER trust a Buckeye at all!
