Soldiers Treated to Fun in the Sun
When the 200 and some army reserve soldiers in the 261st Ordnance are fighting overseas, they don't have much time to relax.

NITRO, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- When the 200 and some army reserve soldiers in the 261st Ordnance are fighting overseas, they don't have much time to relax.
When they come home, they're treated to a little R and R.
Sunday in Nitro, the soldiers and their families got together for a summer picnic and pool party.
For the kids, there was no better way to spend their Sunday afternoon than splashing around in the pool with their family and friends.
"We really appreciate the city of Nitro showing their appreciation for all the soldiers and for all the sacrifices they've made for our country," said Gillian Light, who served with the 261st Ordnance.
The 261st Ordnance is based in Cross Lanes and is made up of soldiers from all over the Kanawha Valley.
