UPDATE: Motorcyclist Dies in Putnam County Accident; Name Released
The Putnam County Sheriff's department has released the name of the man who was killed in a motorcycle accident Friday morning.

POCA, W. Va (WSAZ) -- The Putnam County Sheriff's department has released the name of the man who was killed in a motorcycle accident Friday morning.

Police say the victim is James Wiseman, who is 25 years old and from Liberty.

Officers say Wiseman came upon a bad spot in the road, tried to avoid it and lost control. The accident happened on Silver Road in Poca.

Wiseman was a member of a local band that was scheduled to perform Friday night at the Putnam County Fair. There will be a candlelight vigil at the fairgrounds at 9 p.m.

POCA, W. Va (WSAZ) -- A motorcyclist is dead after being involved in a crash in Poca.

A Putnam County 911 dispatcher told WSAZ.com the accident happened shortly after 3:15 Friday morning, on Silver Road.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The Putnam County Sheriff's department is handling the investigation.

I just seen and talked to him on 4th of July. He was talking about the good old days. It's crazy how fast somebody can be ripped from you. RIP James I will be praying for his family.

James graduated from Poca with my sister Stacy his brother Joe graduated with my sister Sarah.So we will be praying for them.
