Flood Victims to Receive Temporary Tax Breaks
Flood victims in five West Virginia counties are getting a tax break on the cost of repairing or replacing housing damaged by severe storms in June.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Flood victims in five West Virginia counties are getting a tax break on the cost of repairing or replacing housing damaged by severe storms in June.
Gov. Joe Manchin said Friday he's suspended state sales and use taxes on the purchase or installation of mobile homes, house trailers, modular homes or similar units in Lewis, Logan, McDowell, Mingo and Wyoming counties.
Manchin says the taxes also are suspended on purchases of cleaning supplies, bottled water and building materials such as doors, hot water heaters, plumbing supplies and fixtures, and bathtubs.
The tax suspension expires Aug. 31.
