MINERAL WELLS, W.Va. (AP) -- Worn tires are being blamed for a two- vehicle wreck that killed a Wood County couple and two children.
The accident occurred Sunday evening in Mineral Wells.
Wood County sheriff's Deputy B.A. Pickens says a southbound vehicle driven by 27-year-old Carrie Cunningham of Mineral Wells entered a sharp bend, started to rotate and crossed into the northbound lane. Cunningham's vehicle hit a northbound vehicle driven by 41-year-old Darin Affolter of Mineral Wells.
Pickens says Cunningham, her 38-year-old husband Michael, 7-year-old Haley Mylers and 4-year-old Addison Myers were pronounced dead at the scene.
Affolter suffered minor injuries.
Pickens attributed the accident to worn tires on the Cunningham vehicle.

Crystal. Facts matters in our everyday life..and always have! Why does our police officers need to even report any cause for anything? Why are there courts with a judge/jury? I will tell you why, because sometimes, justice needs to be served. So facts doesn't matter huh? Yes there were families involved everywhere and they don't need to hear about someone like you speaking out and saying it doesn't matter what happened. God forbid, but let your son/daughter/mother/sister/brother/ or child die and you not ask for a reason.Just that they have died. I think you'll change your mind. So stop stating your opinion when you don't even know what you're talking about! My heart breaks for each family member that has to face life without their loved one.
Its doesnt matter what the facts are all that matters is there are lives that were taken and hearts that were broke. You all are judging everyone but how would you feel if it was your family going threw this. Does it matter if the father has more children? No, because even if he does have more children they can never replace the ones that he loved and lost. I pray for this family and other families that have lost a loved this past weekend!
You are right Matt! Speed was indeed part of the reason for the lives of 4 precious loved ones. Bald tires was only a part of it! Facts are floating around on what really happened. It needs to be investigated further!
