WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Kenova Municipal Water has issued a boil water advisory for the following areas:

Route 52 at Centerville
Lower and Upper Gragston Creek
Whites Creek
Ballangee Branch
Buffalo area past Buffalo High School to and including Buffalo Creek

Friday a water problem occurred on Route 52 at Centerville causing contamination of the water in that area. Kenova Municipal Water says conditions indicate that there is a high probability that the water in that area is contaminated. Testing has not yet occurred to confirm or deny the presence of contamination of water, but they advise you boil your water before drinking or using it to cook.

Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing and cooking until further notice from the water company.

Kenova Municipal Water believes the problem should be resolved in about two or three days.

For more information, please contact Kenova Water Plant at 304-453-2205 between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
