COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- The state is planning to help only the sickest Ohioans with HIV pay for their drugs, in order to save Ohio nearly $3 million per year.
An official with the HIV drug program says the plan, which will likely start next month, will cut off some 500 people with HIV. That's in addition to the 250 people who were dropped from the program earlier this month.
The plan proposes to limit eligibility based on a count that measures a type of white blood cell.
Earlier this month, the state placed a tighter limit on income eligibility for the program. It also issued a wait list, which means no one who is HIV-positive can start receiving assistance unless someone else stops getting the money.

Joanie, said it best. We need to have women who keep having children that they can't afford to quit and the fathers take care of them.
What about trying to cut the lazy butts on medicaid and medicare that never worked a day in their lives. I am not talking about the ones who really cant work, but the ones who go to Pathways or a phychiatrist drawing a check and medical, because of their so called nerves or mental illness. Really? That right there is flawed and would save a lot of money.
Pretty bad when we let people sit on welfare for years and they are cutting needed funding!!! And by the way, anymore when it comes to elections, all you have to go on is what you see them act like in front of the camera or there happy face in the crowds...All we have been doing for several years now is VOTING for the best LIAR!!! And besides why should politicians care about healthcare, aren't they taken care of for the rest of their lives no matter what bill changes??
