NEW INFO: Woman Dies After Being Hit Crossing the Street in Gallipolis
Family members say 79-year-old Tomiko Lewis of Gallipolis died a Huntington hospital.

GALLIPOLIS,Ohio (WSAZ) -- Police say 79-year-old Tomiko Lewis died at a Huntington hospital early Friday afternoon.

Lewis was airlifted to the hospital after being hit by a pickup truck in Gallipolis earlier in the day.

The accident happened right before 8 a.m. at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Smithers Street as Lewis was crossing the street.

Gallipolis Police say they will now consult with prosecutors to determine if any charges are warranted agaisnt the driver of the pickup.

GALLIPOLIS, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A woman was airlifted to a Huntington hospital after being hit by a pickup truck in Gallipolis Friday morning.

Gallipolis Police say 79-year-old Tomiko Lewis of Gallipolis was hit as she crossed the street at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Smithers Street. The accident happened right before 8 a.m.

Police believe Lewis suffered serious injuries.

No word if the driver of the pickup will be cited.

I will never understand people here they crack me up!!If people would learn to mind their own business and keep their noses out of other peoples they would be better off...Take a good hard look at your own self and learn to leave other people alone.

I agree with Rob... Accident's do happen! And when it's your number is called it's time to go,had this lady been eating her dinner and passed then who would they blame? Never point finger's until u get the needle outta your own eye!! My prayer's go out to both these family's!
