CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An internal investigation involving a Charleston Police Captain has now turned into a criminal probe.

In May, a conduct complaint was filed against Captain Myron White.

Charleston Police Chief Brent Webster says an internal investigation was launched and Capt. White was put on paid administrative leave. He was an investigator in the professional standards unit.

Chief Webster says that new information has lead the department to begin a criminal investigation into the complaint.

Webster says the department can not comment on the details surrounding the complaint.

Charleston Police Sgt. Eric Hodges is in charge of the criminal investigation. The internal investigation is still ongoing.

In Capt. White's absence, Sgt. Autumn Davis will now serve in the professional standards division.

YFNA I love it! Any one that reads your post can tell you are law enforcement or some thing there of??Because i voice myself and its not to your taste, its automatic i must be a law breaking person. This is what i say, you have done nothing but expose the real meaning {above the law} live by the laws written for all, and stop profiling i hear its illegal? A great example of how cops ruin lives over something as simple as {7415 you must not be a law abiding citizen because we fail to agree} WOW who ever said actions speak louder than words? That kind of thinking sets the GREAT STATE OF WEST VIRGINIA back 50 years.

I say again, law abiding citizens need not worry about such things. You sound to be on the other side of law abiding or you would not have such concerns.

YFNA You do not have to of committed a crime, but just be suspect of such,to be put through the process.Your posting only reflects what i tryed to convey.I dont know this officer only what i hear and read.My point made very clear by you YFNA.Do you think Capt.White feels any pressure? Do you wonder if all the time spent serving and protecting citizens will account?? Will his standing ever be the same?? Or is the damage already done? my point exactly YFNA shouldnt we all be presumed innocent unless proven otherwise. It does not always seem to work that way. We should always try to learn from each other.
