NEW BOSTON, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Trash collectors are used to seeing gross things, but employees of the New Boston Service Department say they were disgusted with what they found earlier this week.
Two pit bull puppies were found nearly emaciated in a box Tuesday behind a New Boston home. They were set out with trash, waiting to be picked up by a garbage truck.
New Boston Village Administrator Steve Hamilton says whoever left the pups in the trash faces second-degree misdemeanor charges for abandoning them. It is against local ordinances to abandon domestic animals.
One of the puppies was put in a foster home and the other taken to the Pike County Ohio Animal Shelter.

Someone needs a good old fashioned butt whoopin' over this one. Whoever did this is a coward and lower than the fecal matter produced by these puppies. God please help this sick and uncaring society!
This is just horrible! I know it's hard to care for dogs. It is expensive. If they didn't want them they could have given them to a shelter... There is no excuse for this. I know not every one is an animal lover, but people with general compassion of life would NOT put LIVE half starved puppies in a box left to die. I am not talking the talk, I walk the walk... I have 9 dogs from the shelter, I have 5 cats that were stray, and needed homes. Even if a pup would come to my house now, I wouldn't starve it, and throw it in the trash.
I hate to see people be so mean to animals.. if you don't want them just take them to an animal shelter, don't put them in the trash... maybe we should put you in the trash and tell you good luck...JERKS!!!!!
