PAINTSVILLE, Ky (WSAZ) -- It's a buyers' market out there, and some people are getting creative in trying to sell their homes.
According to the National Association of Realtors, sales of existing homes dipped in June for the second consecutive month. Now that a home-buyer tax credit of up to $8,000. has expired, home sales are expected to keep dropping -- at least through the rest of the summer.
"Someone out there can afford to buy my house," says Rosa Lee Pack of Paintsville, Ky. "The economy's bad and you have to think out of the box. So I told my husband, 'We need to put our house on a billboard.' "
Pack did just that. Her family's home is now featured on a billboard along U.S. Route 23 in Paintsville.
"I had the sign out in front of my house," Pack says. "Every one driving by has already seen it."
Pack is hoping the billboard offers more exposure in an effort to sell the home in a buyers' market.

I've been in Rosa Lee's house- actually her first realtor told her to sell it for 1.5M. She designed the house herself (designed most of them on that road, as a matter of fact)- the doors, kitchen, built-ins are all custom made- the fully functional playhouse comes with the house. Worth every dime.
Live near this house, drove by to see what all the fuss was about. Counted 5 garage doors. Looks like slate on her roof. Very large lot and close to town. Neighborhood had 3 other "mansions" near her house. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! That old saying even bad publicity is better than no publicity came to mind. It caused me to drive by. Looks like it was worth it to me.
I must say, that does not look like a $875,000 home. Is there a lot of property with it or something? For that much the custom everything probably needs to be made from gold.
