CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Dana Waldo didn't stay retired long.
On Monday, Frontier Communications announced that the former Appalachian Power president and chief operating officer has accepted a job as senior vice president and general manager for Frontier's West Virginia operations.
Waldo retired from the AEP subsidiary in May.
Frontier purchased West Virginia's landlines as part of a 14-state, $8.6 billion deal with Verizon.
The West Virginia deal involves more than 626,000 landlines and was approved by state regulators in May.
Frontier says Waldo will be responsible for all aspects of the company's operations in West Virginia, including its push to expand broadband service.

Dana Waldo brings years of local knowledge, experience, and leadership with him. I believe that Frontier made a wise decision in choosing him. The people complaining about Mr. Waldo can't see past their entitlement attitudes. The hate paying their bills, and will never accept the fact that the cannot have a free lunch.
Looking for a job Chuck!!! LOL Frontier is in bad shape.
Great news for Frontier and WV---Dana Waldo is a known leader and is emminently qualified to work with constituents in WV, ranging from the consumer to labor. He will bring enormous strength to Frontier's stated desire to shore up neglected areas that will vastly improve customer service. Intellect, concern for the customer---and great indtegrity. Good job, Frontier!
