Abandoned Meth Lab Found in Athens County

ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Emergency crews were called out to an abandoned meth lab found on the side of the road near the Pine Aire Trailer Park on Sunday.

According to the Athens County Sheriff's Department, someone passing by spotted the lab and told a deputy. That deputy called in members of the Narcotics Enforcement Team, who worked along with the Plains Volunteer Fire Department to neutralize the lab.

The responding deputy said it appeared the lab had caught on fire inside of a vehicle and believes it was tossed out the window. While neutralizing the lab another fire started, which the firefighters quickly put out.

No one was hurt and no suspects have been named.
