BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Cabell County 911 dispatchers tell WSAZ.com that the eastbound lanes of I-64 have reopened after a wreck that happened Friday morning.
The wreck happened just past the Mall Road exit in Barboursville.
Five vehicles were involved in the crash, including a semi hauling heavy equipment and a large vehicle tow truck.
A driver involved in the crash told WSAZ.com that there was another wreck and the semi could not slow down in time to avoid the wreck, and ended up losing it's load, causing pileup.
No word on injuries.
The lanes reopened just at 2 p.m.
The crash happened about 10:45 a.m.
At least five vehicles are involved in the crash at the 21 mile marker, just past the Mall Road exit in Barboursville.
A driver that was involved in the crash tells WSAZ.com that there was a wreck on the interstate already, and that in trying to avoid that crash, several other vehicles, including a flat bed semi with a load of equipment, also crashed.
We're waiting to find out if anyone was injured in the crash.
For now all eastbound traffic on I-64 is being diverted off the Mall Road exits onto Rt. 60 to get around the crash.
The eastbound lanes are expected to be closed for several hours.
A number of emergency vehicles are on the scene, some parked on the edge of the westbound lanes. One westbound lane is closed in the area, due to the vehicles.
