CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Another purse snatching Friday night in eastern Cabell County has police on high alert.

The most recent incident happened about 7:45 p.m. Friday at Kmart along U.S. 60 near Barboursville.

West Virginia State Police troopers say the victim was putting some bags into her car when someone in a white Audi A-4 with Ohio tags drove up and snatched her purse. Witnesses chased after the suspects, but they were able to get away.

"The reality of it is somebody is going to get seriously hurt, seriously hurt or injured," Trooper Will Hash said. "You get somebody that's doped up on the heroin, on the pills, and mostly its been heroin that we've been seeing a lot lately."

Another purse snatching earlier this week at the Walmart along U.S. 60 in Huntington ended with a man's arrest.
