LOGAN, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A strip club has been stripped of its liquor license, but it didn't go down without a fight.
Aces High Nightclub in Logan was accused of staying open after hours, so a state trooper and agents with the Alcohol Beverage Control Administration went to investigate.
According to the criminal complaint, all owners and customers were required by law to be out of the club by 3:30 a.m.
When people were still going inside at 3:45, the trooper and two ABCA agents went to investigate.
The report states an employee grabbed an agent's arm, told them to get out and tried to slam the door in their faces.
That's when troopers say Lea Ann Adkins came running across the club and shoved one of the agents -- causing her to hit her head against the wall.
Adkins was arrested and charged with battery and obstructing. It’s unclear whether she works at the club. She is out of jail on bond.
That all happened early Sunday morning.
Tuesday night, the club's liquor license was revoked.
Those who work in the neighborhood have mixed feelings about the club.
"We come in and do our work. They come in and I guess do theirs at night time, but they don't bother us,” a woman who works in the neighborhood, said. “We haven't been bothered by any of them other than the fact you see a lot of prostitutes walking up and down the street."
The nightclub is technically still open for business. It just isn't allowed to sell alcohol.
Nobody with the club was available Wednesday for comment.
