UPDATE 3/22/13 @ 4:30 p.m.
KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A convenience store in Rand has become a target of repeat robberies. The latest one happened Friday morning.
Just after midnight, deputies say a man walked into the 7-Eleven with a gun, demanded cash and cigarettes and got away with both.
This marks the third time the store has been robbed in the past year. All three robberies happened between the hours of midnight and 3 a.m.
“Sometimes we wish we wouldn't have bought here. It's scary. It scares us all,” Linda Greathouse, a neighbor, said.
The Greathouse family moved next to the store a little more than a year ago and has been there to experience all three robberies.
“It used to be they kept the door shut. At ten o'clock they'd close the door and you'd have to go to the window and buy stuff. Now they leave the doors open 24 hours. They go in and out, in and out, all night long,” Ron Greathouse said.
The first robbery happened in July, before the doors remained unlocked.
Then in January, there was another armed robbery at the store. That time Gerald Maxwell turned himself in, admitting to walking inside, pulling out a gun and stealing $100.
This time around, deputies are looking for another man. They say he went in just after midnight with a gun and left with stolen cigarettes and cash.
The suspect is a white man, medium build and has scruffy facial hair.
At the time of the robbery, he was wearing blue jeans, white tennis shoes and a white jacket with red and black on the sleeves.
Deputies with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department say these robberies are becoming far too common.
“The stores that stay open later at night, especially the 24-hour convenience stores, are often targeted during robberies,” Capt. Sean Crosier said.
So far no arrests have been made in this robbery.
If you have any information, you are asked to call the sheriff’s office at (304) 357-0169.

The man was armed with a weapon.
The robbery was caught on the store's surveillance video. Deputies say the suspect is described as a male, medium build, scruffy facial hair, wearing white tennis shoes, blue jeans and a white jacket with red and black on the sleeves.
