UPDATE 11/14/12 @ 10:10 p.m.
PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Pharmacist Jackson Noel is working with a security technician to install security cameras in Buffalo Drug.
He figures it’s a good idea to have them after what happened Tuesday night.
"I didn't worry a whole lot about security in this place because I've got signs posted on both doors that all narcotics are locked in a vault at all times," said Noel, owner of Buffalo Drug. "I didn't think anybody would be bold enough to come in here and hold me up in broad daylight."
But that’s exactly what happened.
"And a guy was standing right there at the counter where you are -- and he had his gun pointed at her and at me -- and he was saying, 'Get down, get down on the floor'," Noel said.
The man wasn’t interested in money.
All he wanted was Opana, a schedule two narcotic, and he demanded that Noel open his safe and give him all he had.
"On the way back there, he made the comment, he said 'I'm sorry, I've got a problem, I just want Opana,' Noel said. "And, I mean, at that point I kind of felt like just give him what he wants. He's not going to hurt anybody -- and I didn't feel like my life was in jeopardy. And I certainly wouldn't have put it in jeopardy by doing something stupid."
The robber then took off, getting away with more than $2,500 worth of drugs.
"When it happens there are a lot of things going through your mind and identifying this idiot is not one of them," Noel said.
So while Noel didn’t get a great look at the thief, he did notice he was wearing a black hoodie, a dark hat and had a black bandana over his face.
