UPDATE: Seven People in Stable Condition after Head-On Crash

McDERMOTT, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Seven people injured in a wreck Monday night in Scioto County are all in stable condition.

The wreck happened about 10:20 p.m.Monday night on State Route 104 near McDermott Pond Creek Road.

The Ohio Highway Patrol says Earl L. Isaac Jr., 31, of West Portsmouth was traveling nort when he crossed the center-line to pass a semi and hit an oncoming vehicle head-on.

That vehicle was driven my Brian K. Howard, 42, of West Portsmouth.

Isaac was flown to St. Mary's Medical Center, as well as both of his passengers, Tiffany N. Pontious, 22, of West Portsmouth, and Jeffrey L. Pontious, 53, of Waverly.

Howard was taken to Southern Ohio Medical Center, as well as all three of his passengers, Jillian Cunningham, 15, Emily Howard, 11 and Tyler Howard, 15, all of West Portsmouth.

All occupants are currently listed in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.

SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- State Route 104 in the McDermott area is back open following a head-on crash that had three people airlifted to the hospital.

The crash was reported about 11 p.m. Monday.

The Ohio Highway Patrol trooper investigating the crash tells WSAZ.com that seven people were hurt in the accident.

The trooper says the accident happened when a vehicle was passing a semi and hit another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction head-on.

No word on the condition of those hurt in the accident.

SR 104 reopened about 12:30 Tuesday morning.

SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A serious head-on crash late Monday night in the McDermott area near Ohio 104 has resulted in at least three medical helicopters flown to the scene, Ohio Highway Patrol dispatchers say.

The crash was reported about 11 p.m. Monday.

There was no word on how many people are hurt.

Dispatchers say drivers should avoid the area, which is shut down near the wreck.
