CLAY COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The man's name who died Monday afternoon in a crash on Interstate 79 near the Wallback exit has been released.
David McCallister, who was driving a blue Honda Pilot, died at the scene, West Virginia State Police say.
The crash happened about 2 p.m. Monday when the southbound SUV veered off the roadway, went over a hill and crashed into a tree near the Roane County line.
The accident happened about 2 p.m. Monday just past the Wallback exit.
State Police say the driver of an SUV was heading south in the fast lane, when he went into the gravel.
Troopers say the man over corrected, went back off the road, over a hill and into a tree.
The man was pronounced dead on the scene.
The man's name has not been released.
