UPDATE: Victims' Names Released in Triple Murder

WEBSTER COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Investigators have released the names of all three victims in a triple homicide.

It happened Wednesday afternoon at a home in Hacker Valley, in Webster County, West Virginia.

Investigators say Dustin Brown, 26, Elle Coates, 49, and Denise Coates, 49, all from Hacker Valley were shot and killed.

Michael and Amanda York have been arrested and charged with their murders.

Police say Amanda York called 911 Wednesday and said she had shot three people that broke into her home. She later admitted that Michael was actually the one who shot them. He was arrested on Interstate 79 at the Kanawha-Clay border a few hours later.

Michael York is also charged with trying to hide one of the bodies.

Amanda York told investigators that she and her husband had gotten into an argument with the three earlier in the day at another home. She said they showed up at her home later and that is when her husband shot them.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A husband and wife are facing charges after a triple murder in Webster County.

The Webster County Prosecuting Attorney's Office tells WSAZ.com, Amanda York called 911 Wednesday afternoon and told dispatchers she had just shot and killed three people who were trying to break into her home.

She told dispatchers she was home alone with a five-year-old child and the people had threatened them.

Several law enforcement agencies arrived at the home and that is when the five-year-old told police it was Amanda's husband Michael who actually shot the three people.

Amanda then admitted to police, that story was true. She told investigators she and Michael got into a fight with the three victims earlier in the day at another house. They said later, the victims showed up at the York's residence and started another altercation.

Police say that is when Michael shot and killed all three people.

One of the victims has been identified as Dustin Brown who was 26-years-old and also from Hacker Valley.

The names of the other victims have not been released, pending family notification.

Amanda told police Michael had tried to hide one of the bodies and then she told him to leave town and head to Kentucky.

Michael was arrested several hours later on I-79 South near the Kanawha-Roane county line.

Michael and Amanda York have been charged with three counts of murder and Michael is also facing a charge of concealment of a deceased human body.

They are currently being held in the Central Regional Jail pending a bond hearing in Webster County Circuit Court.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- One of two suspects in a triple murder was arrested along Interstate 79 late Wednesday night.

West Virginia State Police tell WSAZ.com that a bolo was issued for a brown 1991 Ford Bronco believed to be traveling toward Charleston.

Police say the driver is a suspect in a triple murder out of Webster County where two men and a woman were found shot to death in the Potts Run Road area near Hacker Valley.

After hours of searching, both suspects were found and taken into custody.

Troopers found one of the suspects in that Ford Bronco near the Roane-Kanawha County line just south of the Amma exit along Interstate 79. Police avoided a chase and made the arrest without incident and say the suspect was not armed at the time.

The SUV was hauled away for processing and the suspect was taken back to police headquarters for questioning.

Police say the murders are thought to be drug related.

WEBSTER COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two males and a female were the victims of a triple murder that happened Wednesday evening, leading to the eventual arrest later Wednesday night of two suspects in Kanawha County.

According to a news release from the Webster County Office of Emergency Services, the triple shooting was reported about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday. It happened in the Potts Run Road area near Hacker Valley.

First responders discovered the victims, all of whom were pronounced dead at the scene.

Less than three hours later, police captured the two suspects near the 23-mile marker of Interstate 79 in Kanawha County. The suspects were headed south at the time.

In Webster County, EMS from Hacker Valley Volunteer Fire Department and Webster Springs Volunteer Fire Department, Webster County Sheriff’s Department, West Virginia State Police, and the Webster County Coroner were dispatched to scene.

The West Virginia State Police Crime Scene Team has been requested to assist in the investigation. The incident is being investigated by State Police.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two triple murder suspects have been caught Wednesday night at the 23-mile marker of Interstate 79 in Kanawha County, 911 dispatchers say.

The triple murder happened earlier Wednesday in Webster County, which is located in central West Virginia -- a mountainous area east of I-79. The murders are said to be drug related.

Dispatchers say the suspects were caught heading south on I-79.

Webster County 911 dispatchers say the murders were the result of a triple shooting along Potts Run Road in the Hacker Valley area.
