UPDATE: Pike County Bank Robbed

UPDATE 10/3/13 @ 7:00 p.m.PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) – The suspect in a Pike County dropped some of the stolen cash as he fled the bank Thursday afternoon.

The robbery happened at the Community Trust Bank branch on Highway 610 in Virgie just before 2 p.m.

Kentucky State Police say a man entered the bank, pulled out a weapon, demanded cash, and then took off.

They say he was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with his face covered.

As the suspect fled the bank, he dropped some of the cash along a nearby creek bank that State Troopers recovered.

Troopers believe the man may have had someone parked nearby that drove him away.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Kentucky State Police Post 9, Pikeville.
