BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A boil water advisory was issued Tuesday for about 60 customers in the community of Van.
According to a news release from West Virginia American Water, the advisory affects people living along James Branch.
The advisory was put into place following flushing in the area which drained a water storage tank.
Customers are being asked to bring water to a rolling boil before consuming it.
The company also advises customers throw away any ice cubes that were previously made with the water, provide pets with the boiled water, once it is cooled, and treat any kind of injuries with boiled water that has reached a desirable temperature.
WVAW says that filtration systems are not a replacement for the boiling process.
