WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Several brush fires on Friday kept crews in Wayne County busy.

One started about 12:30 p.m. Friday along W.Va. 37 in the Fort Gay area and burned up about 30 to 70 acres.

Crews from four fire departments were called out to contain that fire.

Bertha Ferguson, who accidentally started the fire, said it quickly went out of control.

"I was devastated," Ferguson said. "I just starting crying and screaming because I couldn't control it, so I just fell to the ground really because I just didn't know what to do."

No one was hurt, but the fire did damage some siding on the woman's home.

That fire was out by Friday night.
