LOUISA, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Christmas is over for some families and the endless hours of playing with those new gifts has just begun, but that isn't the case for one family in Louisa, Kentucky.

Jason Brown of Louisa, Kentucky, was hoping to give his three boys new Christmas gifts this year, but burglars hit the Brown house not once, but twice.

On Dec. 15, someone broke into Brown's home stealing gifts such as iPod's, game controllers, toys and more. He took money out of savings to buy more gifts, but burglars broke-in his house again on Christmas day. It's a crime Brown says will be hard to recover from.

"It's been absolutely devastating," Brown said. "I can't put into words how upset I've been. You know, it's made me question even leaving the house to go provide for these children. I've just lost a lot of faith in people."

Brown isn't sure why or who would want to steal from him, but it's a crime his neighbors say that will now make them more alert.

Mack Chapman of Louisa, has been Brown's neighbor for more than a year. He says these burglaries will now make him be more cautious of suspicious people in the neighborhood.

"If they do come around, I'm going to be watching," Chapman said. I'll be more observant about who is going through the area and the neighborhoods, maybe nosing around."

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department is investigating the burglaries. Brown is offering a $1000 reward for anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
