UPDATE: Car Carrying Six People Crashes into Creek, Name Released

FLATWOODS, Ky. (WSAZ) -- We now know the name of a woman who had to be airlifted to the hospital after a car went into a creek when the brakes failed.

Russell Police tell WSAZ.com Juanita Inskeep, 71, of Flatwoods, was flown to St. Mary's Medical Center Sunday evening after the car she was riding in crashed into a creek.

It happened around 6 p.m. at the end of a driveway on Bethann Drive in Flatwoods.

Inskeep was one of six people in the vehicle, including two children. Another adult was taken to a local hospital for her injuries, but was treated and released.

Inskeep suffered head injuries, but is expected to be released from the hospital Monday.

FLATWOODS, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A car carrying six people fell into a creek after the brakes failed sending two people to the hospital, according to police.

Officers tell WSAZ.com it happened about 6 p.m. at the end of a driveway on Bethann Drive in Flatwoods.

Police say the car was backing out of the driveway when the driver noticed the brakes were not working. The car ended up falling down the embankment and then into the creek.

Six people were inside the car and two people had to be rushed to the hospital. Emergency workers say one person suffered head injuries and had to be airlifted to the hospital.

Police say two of the people in the car were in their 60s, two other in their 20s and two young children.
