Car Hits Building in South Charleston

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A simple mistake made for a big mess at a business in South Charleston.

Police say an elderly woman was trying to back out of a parking space at a shopping center on MacCorkle Avenue. Instead of putting the car in reverse, police tell us the woman had the car in drive and went forward.

The car hit a window and broke it out at Lucky's Tattoo Shop along MacCorkle Avenue. The accident happened about 10:30 a.m. Monday.

No one was hurt in the accident.

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An elderly woman has crashed into a building on MacCorkle Avenue in South Charleston.

It happened just before 10:30 a.m. Monday at the UPS store.

Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com the woman was trying to back out of a parking space when she accidentally went forward into the building.

It is unclear if anyone has been hurt and what the extent of the damage is to the building.
