Carter Co., Ky. Juvenile Faces Charges After Bringing Gun to School

CARTER COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A Carter County, Ky. juvenile is facing charges after police said the East Carter High student brought a gun to school.

Grayson Police said the handgun was found outside of the trunk of a car on school property around 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

Officials said they don't believe the gun was brought to school premises to harm anyone. They also said Grayson Police officers were at the school when a complaint came in about the gun.

Officers said no one was in any imminent danger.

Grayson's Police Chief said the student faces charges, but would not elaborate.

Police are still investigating the case.

The student's name is not being released, due to the fact that he/she is a juvenile.
