Change in Pullman Square Pet Policy

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- If you’re a pet lover, you probably like to have them tag along with you every now and then, but one place in Huntington said enough is enough.

Signs were posted around Pullman Square on Friday that read “No dogs or live animals at Pullman Square."

The ban was put in place because people have been carrying snakes and parrots through Pullman. But dogs were added, too.

People took their frustrations to social media, telling the owners of Pullman that people love the area, but they also love their dogs.

Bill Dargusch is one of the developers for Pullman, and he says this was all a mix-up.

Dargusch says dogs are not only allowed in Pullman, but people are encouraged to take them there. Dargusch added that people need to keep their dogs on leashes and to use common sense while walking dogs around other people.

The signs were taken down, and Dargusch says new ones will be put up at a later time after he has a chance to revise the policy.
