PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A Cincinnati man will spend the next 20 years behind bars for breaking into a Portsmouth pharmacy.
Brancon Mockbee, 37, of Cincinnati, Ohio, was sentenced Friday to 20 years in jail for breaking into the Staker's Pharmacy in West Portsmouth.
Mockbee was convicted on 12 charges including multiple counts of aggravated possession of drugs, theft of drugs, theft, breaking and entering, vandalism, receiving stolen property, possession of criminal tools and tampering with evidence.
According to a release from the Scioto County Prosecuting Attorney, Detective Denver Triggs with the Scioto County Sheriff;s Office investigated the incident. Det. Triggs was able to identify custom rims on the cars that was used during the break-in -- and recognized them as belonging to Mockbee's girlfriend. The stolen merchandise was later recovered from their residence.
Mockbee has eight prior prison sentences.
