HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Huntington Police shutdown two Huntington bars Friday night for non-payment of B&O taxes.

City spokesperson, Bryan Chambers says the businesses were Bar 1201 at the corner of 12th Street and 4th Avenue, and Jake’s Saloon & Sports Bar located in the 1400 block of 4th Avenue.

Chambers says both businesses will remain closed until the owners pay those taxes.

Back in March, a man and woman were shot inside Bar 1201. The man was shot in the chest, and the woman in the foot. Both survived the shooting. The ABCA suspended the bar's liquor license for ten days following that shooting.

Friday night, Jake’s was also cited for an incident of underage drinking.

Chambers says the city is committed to using whatever tools necessary to keep the downtown safe.
