UPDATE 2/16/13 @ 8:45 p.m.
NITRO, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Police in Nitro and St. Albans are looking for answers about the crash Friday night that slowed traffic for hours and caused the death of one woman.
Two cars collided on Route 25 near the I-64 entrance in Nitro around 8 p.m. Police say Cuba Lambert, 69, had to be cut out of the car and later died at the hospital from her injuries. Two others were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay.
Chief Brian Oxley of the Nitro Police Department said his force is working closely with St. Albans police, who are reconstructing the crash. They are using black-box information from the cars involved to determine whether one or both of the cars involved was speeding, or if there were other reasons for the crash.
"Right now we know that alcohol was not a factor. We also know that weather was not a factor," Oxley said. "Due to us doing the full reconstruction, we will hopefully have some more information once the details of the reconstruction come out."
Charges could be filed, depending on what police find out from the investigation.
