Deputies Asking for Help to Identify Check Fraud Suspect

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies are looking for a man accused of check fraud.

According to a news release, the first forged check was reported on July 12 from a grocery store in Cross Lanes. Then, the next several days additional forged checks were identified.

Deputies say the checks have been passed in several counties, including a convenience store in Teays Valley.

The checks belong to a woman and her deceased mother.

One of the stores caught pictures of the suspect on surveillance video, according to deputies.
